I Can't Do It All... And That's Okay...

July was such a busy month in our home!  Abraham turned 6 years old, we continued shopping for and found a retail location for our online fabric shop, I finally began accepting help for my cloth diaper business, and I came to the realization that I can't do it all!

Seriously, after 10 years of marriage and children, I realized that something had to give.  For the month of July, it was my blog.

My Sweet Boy!

Of course it seems so obvious, but we hear these messages all the time: "you can do it all, mama!"  Balance work, kids, school, a healthy marriage, friends, shopping, blogging, reading, crafting, cooking healthy meals... it's exhausting!  We are mere mortals.  It's okay to not be able to do it all.  It's okay to unplug from time to time... heck, it's okay to unplug all the time!

Sometimes life gets busy and hectic; August will be another one of those months for me.  Hectic is not always bad.  Sometimes it means something wonderful is about to begin.

I often have to remind myself to eat, to breathe, to just soak this wonderful life in.  When I do, I feel so relieved, grateful, renewed.

I look back at my kids' lives through photos often and I am just shocked at how quickly time flies...

What does it all matter when we don't take the time to stop and smell the roses, stop and take in our children's scents?  Sit and play a game with them?  There are so many things that a person can be remembered for at the end of their lives.  Being a great parent should be a high priority on our list.

Being a loving and caring spouse should be something that we are remembered for.  As I look back on the hurricane of life the past 10+ years have been for us, I see that we have withstood our trials by choosing to love one another and putting each other first.  I hope that I can model these things to my children even better.  I hope that I can better show my children that they can accomplish anything with hard work, but that doesn't mean that they need to accomplish everything.
